About BeClose
BeClose was designed with a single goal in mind -- to help caregivers keep an eye on aging parents, friends and relatives, while enabling seniors to continue to stay in their homes and feel more connected to those who care for them.
Today's boomer and aging population is large and growing fast. BeClose's system of wireless sensors and information gives caregivers the information and tools they need to ensure their loved ones are safe and continuing with their normal, daily lifestyles - before something happens. Technology that can map out daily routines from a distance, and send texts or emails when something seems out of the ordinary, is an extension of the way we use technology in our lives, and this time it is vital information telling us that parents, grandparents and friends are safe. That kind of peace of mind is priceless.
Our technology is based on a research and development partnership with the nation’s leading in-home wireless monitoring system and is up and running in 300,000 homes in the US. We know it works and we’re excited to put it to use for you on health monitoring and caregiving - something we are all facing and that we could all use when it comes to caregiving from a distance.
And yet, we know that everybody ages differently and every family functions uniquely. For this reason, we built the BeClose system to be fully customizable so families can set up the type and amount of monitoring they want while optimizing privacy and independence. Our customers vary widely from fully healthy seniors living alone, to cognitively impaired Alzheimer's patients, to disabled young adults, to elderly people with physical ailments. Some have family living nearby, while others live far from loved ones. Nonetheless, all BeClose customers enjoy the independence, peace of mind and dignity that our system offers.
BeClose is the perfect combination of being non-intrusive and yet giving peace of mind. The system provides the ability to see clear behavioral trends and timing of events such as getting up, going to bed and moving around. And although no one is there to help in the event of an emergency, the timing of notifications and how alerts can be established can clearly indicate if something is amiss. The stream of communication via text messaging and/or email is wonderfully efficient and easy to access and can be checked on a routine basis.
My mother’s best friend lay on the floor for three days when she had a bad fall. My mother loves knowing that I’ll find out quickly if she falls and loses consciousness.
